Derrick Hunter, PGA | Vice President of Operations
Derrick brings a wealth of experience as both a player and as an exceptional Golf Professional. An honors graduate of New Mexico State University, Class-A member of the PGA and winner of numerous golf events throughout New Mexico and Nevada, Derrick has earned the deep respect of Elite Golf’s founder, Keith Flatt, while working at one of Las Vegas’ most prestigious country clubs. Derrick intimately understands all aspects of course management, immersing himself completely in whatever task is at hand, all the while deftly managing staff and clients with professionalism and the kindest of dispositions.
Derrick was brought into the Elite Golf Management Team from day one and has been instrumental in the success of our facilities and the management of our Teams at the course levels. He has assisted in implementing our Mission and Vision for the future at each facility, working tirelessly to ensure our success in achieving our company goals and helping to secure the future of Elite Golf Management.
Derrick brings to the game a forward thinking and creative vision, brass tacks facility goal implementation, tracking and strategizing, as well as a gift for financial performance review and analysis. His daily operations oversight and down to earth staff management skills have won the respect of all he comes in contact with in the golf industry.
Robert Wright | Golf Course SuperintendentRobert Wright is a Class A Golf Course Superintendent with over 22 years in golf course maintenance. Robert is also an avid golfer, who started playing the game at age 8 and currently plays to a 13 handicap. After obtaining his A.S. degree in Turfgrass Management from College of the Desert in Palm Springs, California, Robert has the opportunity to showcase his knowledge and skills at some of the most prestigious private country clubs like Portland Golf Club, Royal Oaks Country Club, La Quinta Country Club, and Spanish Trails Country Club. His wide range of experience from public to private to resort golf courses enables him to be creative and flexible in his use of manpower and equipment to determine the most efficient and cost effective methods in golf course maintenance.
Greg Chapin | Chef
Chef Greg Chapin began molding his 30 year craft in high school where he was an apprentice at a four star French restaurant inside PGA National. He Traveled to Miami to attend Johnson & Wales University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Across the country Chef Greg has prepared food in award-winning restaurants and exclusive private clubs, such as the Maidstone Club in East Hampton Long Island, NY, Dunwoody, Ansley Golf Club & the Georgia Dome during the 1996 summer Olympic Games in Atlanta,GA.& Pro Player Stadium (now Hard Rock Stadium)“Home of the NFL Miami Dolphins & MLB Miami Marlins” in Miami Gardens Florida.
Since moving to Las Vegas in 2000, Chef Greg has worked for three “James Beard” award-winning restaurants. Aqua/Micheal Mina’s at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino, Roy Yamaguchi’s “Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion” & “Bouchon” at the Venetian Hotel & Casino owned by Thomas Kellar, who currently holds 7 Michelin stars. In addition Chef Greg has also worked in the South Shore of Lake Las Vegas as a private chef & off-premise catering at Michael Angelo’s “Renaissance Catering”, winner of the “2008 Catering Company of the Year” & 2011 “Best of Las Vegas”. Chef Greg is currently the corporate chef & co-owner of “Exclusive Chefs Catering” and has been the executive chef at Black Mountain Golf since 2015.
Chef Greg’s philosophy is “Love is the missing ingredient”, when you love something and are passionate about it, you put everything you have into it to make it the best.
